I agree that when we are young, it is difficult to be aware what we are facing in a new context. This is where parents help. In the latter parts of life, we have to rely on ourselves and if we are lucky, a helpful mentor.

I have also applied some of the suggested strategies to cope along my journey - Dealing with it head-on, Playing to the strength to get quick wins, Giving myself time to learn and observe, and I found the people to lean on, to say a few.
Somehow, this is a continual battle in intervals and these strategies come handy.
